2015 Malibu Power Wedge Actuator... $3,560.00??

Recommended Posts

So this actuator seized up, and I need to replace it.

I called Gordon Bay Marine and they would only sell me the complete power wedge.. $3560 plus tax, duty and freight - I'm sure it's beyond $4k.

I talked to a Parker dealer in my hometown, they said they can't find this in the system.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you called parker directly to see if the part has been superceded?  Might be able to spec out the complete ram/motor setup here.  Try this number monday (763) 533-1600

Fwiw, the manual says that there are no spare parts for eha series actuators.  What you have pictured is just the motor, part number is for the entire actuator.   Manual here:

As oldjeep said, call Parker.  We have dealt with them on a few occasions at work on random high performance sealing/o-ring problems and every time they have been EXTREMELY helpful.  You usually can get to somebody who knows whats up with their product.  Parker engineers are very helpful in assisting.  We may have gotten lucky in the past, but give them a call and I bet they help you figure out a replacement or direction to go.

Update: When I called Parker I sat on hold for an hour then hung up. Will retry today or tomorrow.

Also I called another Malibu dealer and they quoted $910 for the actuator (not the full kit). Does this sound like the price of the part I need?

Yes that sounds right.

On the 2019s the wedge assembly is all pre-calibrated. And supposedly if something goes out, even the 100 wedge sensor, you have to buy the whole thing. Stupid decision by Malibu if true.

So that just looks like a DC gear motor.  Why not take it apart, clean it, change two o-rings, and put it back together?

I would have to ask the mechanic in charge of the project on the details but he told me it couldn't be rebuilt. He did take it apart.
