Stereo Advice

I need some advice on my next steps with my stereo. I started with the factory stereo, black box (JBL marine I believe), 3 Rockford Fosgate amps, powering 8 in boat RF speakers, 4 6x9 Rf tower speakers and a RF sub.

I have a great MTX hookup and have replaced almost all of the RF equipment with new MTX. This includes a new 12” sub powered by 1000.1 thunder amp, 800.5 Xthunder amp powering in boat speakers, and 500.4 Xthunder amp powering 4 wet8cwb tower speakers.

The boat sounds great, I am very happy with it (at least how it sounds in the garage) my one problem is the remote I have controlling everything is the JBL MC19 and the volume up is sticky and will randomly starting going up until it hits max. Obviously this is a problem for more than one reason.

I’m looking for recommendations on how to proceed. I like the factory look, so would be happy looking for a replacement remote and be done with it. This would keep my transome remote in play too. But if I am looking at roughly the same cost should I just do a stereo delete and buy a nicer remote that includes Bluetooth and add an equalizer?

Appreciate the help guys!

The wetsounds mc1 headunit is probably the best aftermarket stereo on the market right now. I have it. It controls all your zones(4) independently. Really easy to use. A ton of features. I can go on. Its not cheap, but nothing of marine or great quality is right?

The JBL gear is so obsolete, you would be looking for used or with any luck, some NOS collecting dust on someones shelf. A remote is a slave unit that needs a master. So anything with a BT would not be a remote, but a main unit of sorts.

So if I went with the MC1, I would be bypassing the "black box" which would be a stereo delete?

So bypassing the black JBL box, and just adding a new deck.  I just hate to mess with the factory integration.

Not, not really stereo delete, but actually installing a new stereo. As stated, other then working used equipment or new old stock JBL, there is nothing other then something else.

Hi Coop, the head unit in my 2010 Response LX is playing up. Seems similar to other threads.

I'm interested in your JBL remote, it looks virtually the same. What price?
