I would prob go with the wetsounds version on somethings but Brian might put a hit out on me hahahhaha.  Plus im a loyal kinda guy

Me and Buddy built same killer Exile systems at the same time except he never installed his ZLD in place of the Wetsounds unit he already had. When mine would go bad I just through his ZLD that he never used in mine till I got mine back from Exile. If not for that, would have sucked not having a ZLD for the week or 2 shipping there and back took. His Wetsounds line driver never caused him trouble so he never swapped it. He still has the unused ZLD in box.

Let me ask this, if i went deckless and only have ZLD and bluetooth module, why couldnt i remove blackbox and use the MUX controler on the strbrd side that already has the embedded stereo on/off to turn amps/BT/ZLD on?  Esssentially thats whatturns on the blackbox right??

Why doesn’t exile have BT with its own power on button like both WS versions have, therefore they both have remote out. I can turn on my whole system with BT RS, HU is on same accessory dash power switch and it also does the remote out but with it powered off at HU , we just press the power button on BT rs.  If HU was on when acc switched off , HU turns on everything when acc is switched on cause Hu was still on .  We have two choices

I think the 420 is the animal for me, more then I want to spend but perhaps I can learn to play with stereo settings.........

Where/how do you guys mount your phone/Ipod/music source? I have that magnet thing but is kind of awkward...

You can easily leave the tone adjustment straight up, which is zero attenuation.  if you want to make any adjustments to the 4 frequency ranges, you have the ability to make them to the in-boat and tower zone independently. Each of the 4 frequencies, is a dual knob. One for tower and one for in-boats. No other marine EQ offers this. IMO, the single best feature of these devises, is their zone control.

As MLA said, with the 420BT I find the ability to tune the outward facing speakers differently from the cabin speakers to be very valuable.  Very different "sound stages" and listening needs (rhythm and beat vs whole spectrum).

Mine got damp once (I think) and one side crapped out.  It somehow magically healed itself and went on to work fine.

I have had WS420 & WS220. I installed a ZLD in a friends boat. My new boat will have a WS220. Once you have a WS product and try any others you will be back to WS.  There is no comparison between usability.😎 And they all have issues. But the WS have lasted longer.
