Expanding storage space. 18 LSV

Just kicking around an idea to have a convenient spot to store my box anchor. I have an 18 LSV and the storage area behind the Starboard front bow seat that goes under the helm area is where I'm thinking. There is plenty of room to slide my collapsed box anchor if the back of the box was extended back above the sub box. It could be supported by the sub box and a bit of  foam rubber isolation material. Looking for ideas as to how to modify existing box or find cheap composite (Plastic, Plexy, PVC?) make a new one or cut back out of factory box and move it back and patch extensions on sides? image.thumb.png.bd9073e624a15f1ff86ff29df193c031.pngimage.thumb.png.ad29efcba746b26ac9ced8fbb0cf4430.png

Next  question about this project, How much room does a 3 port heater take up in this space? Dealer saying it does not stick up above sub box top. Anyone care to snap a pic of heater so I can see and confirm what I'm up against when I install it.

I carefully stored some lead bags in there on my 2018 lsv so I just kept the bin out of the boat.

Personally I don’t think I’d store an anchor in there, even in the bag, given the moisture and size.

I generally kept my small box anchor in the back of the boat under the rear bins. It never seemed to move off the carpeted ledge.

Cant help you on the heater

Interesting idea.  I have the same boat and keep my small box anchor on the port side under the seats.  I tried keeping it in the port side under the observers compartment towards to bow, so I can lift the pass through seat and grab it.  That lasted a few weeks, but there is just too much stereo equipment up there that I felt was vunearable.  I moved it back to the port seat area.  I’d love to keep it up in the bow if possible.  Looking forward to see what you come up with.

I can try this weekend. Probably need to check my dehumidifiers anyway.

Thanks Weski. On the 18 models I was told the heater does not stick above the sub, still trying to confirm that. Anyone with an 18 can confirm that?

Confirmed.  The heater runs along the back side of the sub, not on top.

Is it mounted to the sub box?

No.  I can’t recall exactly how they are routed, I know they are not connect to, or running on top of the sub box.

Thanks. Sounds like I should be good for clearance on heater when I get to that.
