2008 23 LSV windshield bracket moves?

Recommended Posts

The small side brackets that hold the edge of the windshield up seem to have perhaps. 1/4”-3/8” of play up and down on each side ...see green circled area

Is that by design?

If not, how do you remove the panel that covers the area where I assume the screw to tighten is located?

I had the exact same problem. Open the hatch and there are four bolts that come through the fiberglass. You will remove the nuts and that releases the padded cover in the walkway. Then you can tighten the window bracket. Should be an easy fix.

Thanks! For the one on the observers side, see the attached photo. Are the bolts under the carpeted side or above the black plastic insert?

I looked and they must be somewhere behind the carpet :(

on another note... do you have some sort of foam rubber on both sides of the windshield that opens or just the non-hinge side?

On my boat the walkthrough panels are attached via plastic mushroom connectors like a car door panel.  You just pry them off.

Thanks dlb. Was the foam stripping on the hinge side too or only on the latch side?

On my 2018 the foam is only on the latch side of the center window.

I have a 2005 Response LXI and have this issue. I see in the replies that some folks have through bolts and nuts, and others have the plastic clips like in a car door panel. Can anyone confirm what an '05 response has? Behind the carpet on my boat is just fiberglass with nothing exposed on the inside of where these would attach.
