Funny noise

Recommended Posts

I test drove a 2014 Axis A22 today. The boat ran great until we came in from our test drive and at idle there was a funny bump like the drive shaft or transmission acting up. It only did it in forward. After I left they took it back out and said it didn’t do it then. It may have been something around the propeller. Has anyone had this problem before?

The most probable answer is there was something in the water that the prop hit. If it is repeatable than the first thing that comes to mind is that the prop shaft nuts have backed off which allows the shaft coupler to move against VD output flange face creating a  "clunk" when the boat is put in gear.
