Prop advice

Recommended Posts

squirter

Someone is selling an Acme 381 (13.5x17.5) in my local area.

I am currently running a 515 on my Response.

From the limited details I can find, the prop is bit of a wake/ski prop.

It's going relatively cheaply, so was thinking it may be ok for a spare. Altitude is no problem, we are in Australia.

Thanks.

That will not work on your direct drive boat.  The 515 is 13x12.  The 381 prop is designed for a boat with a 1.5:1 gear reduction.

@SkiPablo is correct, that prop won't work.  It is going cheap because no one wants a 381 anymore with all the other options out there.  Hell, I have a damaged one I'd give away for very little but the repair cost isn't worth it on a 381.

@SkiPablo and @Nitrousbird thanks for the info. Will stick with what I have. Cheers
