23LSV on 24 MXZ Trailer

Recommended Posts

Looking to purchase a trailer and can get a great buy on new 2017 Malibu  MXZ trailer to carry the 23LSV for $3500.00, with spare, breakaway, aluminum step pads, custom wheels! The only issue I see is it only sits on the two outside bunks and doesn’t touch the two inside bunks at all.Only would be on trailer from late October till April and 75 mile one way trips for service!  Not really worried about the extra foot hangover either.  After all the Super Air only sits on two short bunks and a front V mount! Should I worry about weight dispersion, and tounge weight or trailer sway? Am I missing anything?

Do you have pictures of it in it? Would be the best way to understand exactly how it is sitting.

Not the case here but if anyone ever puts an mxz on a trailer that isn’t an mxz trailer, be careful turning as you will dent your bed side with the pickle fork bow! Don’t ask me how I know...

Sounds like a great deal! How difficult would it be to have a trailer shop or competent welder re-position the inside bunks? Especially, since the boat is going to spend almost half it's life on there.

One day you will want to trailer somewhere and if your trailer is not fit to your boat it could change your discussion to trailer. Also some day you will sell your boat. The buyer will want a trailer that fits the boat.  I may be wrong as I only trailer to and from launch each year as we do live on a lake. But I also have taken my boat to other lakes. Not often but I do feel good if I wish to trailer. Sometimes deals just don't work out to be a deal.
