Can you post some video of you riding so we can see the sweet tricks you are able to do on the centurion that you think the malibu won't accomodate?  Would probably give a much better baseline for advice.

Thank you captain sarcasm, that's exactly the kind of response I was looking for! :frantic:

A video or a picture of a wave really means nothing. Proof is on the water, ride them and make your own decision. Remember the wave is just one part of the overall decision to be made. Dealer is gonna be huge part of the decision followed by all the other points that have been mentioned. Really don’t know how anyone is gonna spend 6 figures on a boat and be swayed buy a bunch of guys online they don’t even know. If you’ve only been surfing 6 months by the time you get good enough to really be able to make use of a arguably better wave there will be a better one out anyway. Buy what checks the most boxes!

I'm no professional surfer by any means, but I think you can tell a lot by how a wave looks.. Obviously you can't know the full story until you actually get behind the boat, but I'd hardly say the view means nothing.

Thanks again everyone for your input. We're going to demo the Ri next week and go from there. So many things to consider, it's really going to come down to seeing the boat in person.

I’m actually seriously wondering about these “sharp lip” tricks that are not possible on a Malibu.

I ride a lowly axis t22 without a power wedge and don’t seem to be limited by our boats meager wave, but I haven’t surfed an ri either so maybe it’s good I don’t know what I’m missing.

Well I’m telling you a wave can look great and surf like garage. You really can’t tell by looks. And as I said earlier, I really think you need to re demo the 23 LSV as it really sounds like they had it setup without enough wedge. Where are you located, maybe someone around here can go with you that has experience with the 23 because I don’t know what the presets are like on the new 19’s but on previous models they weren’t even worth having. So if you dealer used a preset the 23 wave was probably garbage. Salesmen don’t always know the correct way to setup a boat.
