I know you guys have already thought about this, but unlike Justin, I need a spell checker.  ROFL.gif

I need all the help I can get.

Thanks all.

Jeff, I've done some more research about the spell checker that is available for our discussion board. After reading through numerous administrative sites, I personally have reservations about adding the particular version I have found. I have played with a demo version a bit (it is called phpSpell), and to be honest it is a bit clunky and not as easy to use as you would expect. Additionally, the spelling dictionary actually has to be maintained and taught to recognize certain words. Not to mention, the additional download, and the unneecessary strain on the servers (for a spellchecker to work, it has to check each and every word of every post that it is run against)...

I just wanted to give you my educated opinion, but ultimately, we would like to leave the decision up to you, the members. It is there and it is doable, it is just a matter of if there is significant enough need. Honestly, if spelling is a major issue, it may be easier (and not to mention, a bit faster) to just type in MS word, and cut and paste into the reply box, but again - if it is something you all would really like to see implemented we will try to make it happen!

Let me know what you think.

Jonathan

I cool w/ just cut and pasting from word, but certainly will go along w/ whatever the majority decides.

Sure, I can live with cut and paste for now. Maybe as the site develops you will be able to add something more professional. Thanks for checking into this for us. Thumbup.gif

Well, I am too lazy to cut and paste, but I'll just deal with my misspellings (did I spell that right?), that works for me.

I like the site so far, except I think you should change the site colors to fuscia and chartruse to appeal to the metrosexual waterskiers like Mdude.

If it was an easy thing to do I would do it just for the LOL factor. ROFL.gif
