Wakeview bench seat opinion

OK, those who have the wakeview bench seat.  Im looking at a 22MXZ and always loved the idea of a wakeview bench seat, but the sales guys at the shop are all trying to talk me out of it.  Their complaints are youll never use it and youll bang your ankles on the supports.

Thoughts?

The wakeview bench seat is rad, but it does cramp up the cockpit of the 22 foot boats - you have to climb around it and it makes the space feel small when in use. Banging ankles hasn't been a complaint I've ever heard. It's your boat, if you want it, get it!

We use it pretty regularly on my 'other brand' boat.  It is not an every time thing, but often enough that I am glad I have it.  The cockpit of the MXZ is small enough, it may get in the way quite a bit, so I understand.

I am not sure why it is a 2K option, but the Malibu factory must think it is pretty cool.  It is a standard option on a 'G' boat.

My friends have it on their Nautique.  It is one of the reasons they chose the Nautique over other brands.  Used it a bunch the first season, now never use it.  No way I'd pay anywhere near $2k for it.

We use it a lot on our boat. Really handy especially when bringing friends along. The rail is a bit of an ankle grabber on my 23lsv but doesn't look like it will be problematic on the new 25lsv.

The wake bench seat will definitely be on my next order.

Definitely wish I could get the new 25LSV design.

I didn’t order the wakeview rear seat in my ‘18 23 LSV. A couple of potential buyers asked if it had it. I think they just like the idea of it. Sold it to a couple that didn’t seem to want it. I ordered it on my ‘19 23LSV though.

We were in a Supra with it and tried it out, and then quickly stowed it away.  Too much in the way.

Same sceanario for me when we demoed the LSV before buying.  I like the seat, but didn’t see the value enough to order it.  In a larger boat, I’m sure I’d use it a ton.

It seems  everyone I know that has/had one doesn't use it, so I didn't get one for my 23 LSV, didn't miss it and it wasn't an issue when selling this fall. Seems like it would make the 22 MXZ cabin really small when pulled out.

That said, I'd probably get it on a 25 because of the larger cabin and extra seating positions on the new version.

This seems to be one of those options people either really like or really don’t. That said, it’s one of those options you cannot add later. I didn’t order it and didn’t miss it, but again it’s a personal preference thing. Maybe as my kids get older it might make more sense.

I have it on my M and never use it. when switching riders, you have to climb over it to get to the back of the boat. big pain.  plus we always have a full boat and it takes up more room than it adds when its in use.
