heater craft 300 doesnt heat

Hi to the Crew!

Hey! My first season with a used 21xti is slowly coming to an end. We are still enjoying the last more or less warm days. The boat has a heater craft 300 installed which isnt working. First i discovered that the hoses coming from the engine were not connected to the heatercore. After connecting them i realized the core has several leaks so i replaced the core. Now with the new one and the hoses connected it doesnt heat when running the blower. I am not sure if the hose going back from the heatercore to the hose next to the raw water pump is connected on the right spot. It is connected right after the pump so is it possible that the cool water gets pressed inside and doesnt allow the hot water to circulate? When i touch the hose coming out of the block the first 10-15 cm are hot and then it gets cold all the way to the heater and back to the outlet right behind the raw water pump. For me it would make sense if this outlet would be installed in front of the pump so the water gets sucked through. Am i right or wrong?
