winterize transmission?

Recommended Posts

I have a 06 response lxi with the 340 monsoon in it...last year I filled the engine block with RV pink stuff through the thermostat....I thought I saw some trickling down a semi clear hose to back of the engine...my question is this...I never drained anything for the transmission should I be putting some pink stuff down a tube to prevent damage or how did pink stuff get in that semi clear tube lsat year???  Putting it away this weekend as it is to get below freezing the next few nights here in Wisco...

Thanks for your time.

^^^ If they were water cooled, yes, I would.

If the boat's transmission has a cooler, like many do, the cooler needs to be drained. Some hold water by the very nature of their location and orientation, while other mostly gravity drain when the boat is hauled out. Never hurts to learn what yours does.

Do you worry about your car/truck transmission freezing?

Not on my car but yes on the boat since the trans/Vdrive are water cooled.
