Regular search seems to work, but when searching the member database it says "you must wait 13 seconds before you can search again" even though it was my first attempt...every subsequent attempt has the same error code, just different timeout number.

Never seen that and I search the members regularly.

often see the same type of warning not restricted to member search when revising search terms (not the initial search).

often when i've waited waaay longer than the recommended 'search again' time.

win10 on a laptop.

I'm on Firefox, Win 10 but also got same results using MS Edge.

So, I asked our resident Guru about this. Sounds like a site software thing, much like the 3 letter search thing. Nothing we can change. This is their response;

Flood control. It keeps the load on the server more balanced. A person can't keep hammering the server with searches. Some queries are incredibly resource intensive & can drag on the whole site when people search over & over again, back to back.
It's always been in place, not sure why they're only commenting on it now.

I get that it's flood control for multiple searches, but I can't even conduct a single search when searching members.  The regular search works fine, and if I re-search quickly I'll get that same message, but the member search seems to default to a flood control without giving any results.

Same result.  It says "Please wait 13 seconds before attempting another search" and I hadn't searched for hours prior.
