Re-sewing a boat lift canopy? New canopy frame?

Our shore station canopy got taken out by high winds a couple of days ago.  We bought this lift used, early in the spring, so not quite sure how old it is.  It is heavy duty vinyl and appears that only the stitching got taken out and the vinyl pieces are OK.  I will obviously make some calls early in the week, but wondering if anyone else has had their canopy re-resewn, or should I be researching new canopies?

On a side note, If I need a new canopy, I'm also thinking about ditching the Shore station frame and moving to a brand that has more frame coming down the sides to prevent the flapping of the cover.   Anyone down that with their ShoreStation brand lift?

I had one done but it was on its last leg. I would ask if the cover is still soft not getting brittle.  If so replace it. I bought a after market someone makes up in central Mi. but I don't know who did it and the guy that got it for me had a hart attack and is no longer so I can't ask. I live in an area with many Amish , you can find people who fix most anything not automotive.

My FIL is taking it into a shop that mainly sews tarps for sand and gravel truckers to have it resewn.  He told me that they were doing a tarp for Comerica Park, home of the Tigers, last time he was in there.  Hoping that will be cheaper than a traditional boat cover guys.  Vinyl was still nice and soft.

I bought a used canopy and the same thing happened to me, threads were coming apart after a wind storm.  Had it resewn for $100 and I got another 3 or 4 years out of it.  I guess it is pretty common from what the upholsterer said.
