Monsoon 340 throttle dead time

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I have a Malibu Response 2005 with Monsoon 340. I don't know if it is an issue or normal behavior but I'm experiencing a ~1s dead time from the moment I throw down the throttle from idle to the moment the engine really starts going. The boat always had this behavior since I own it (~2013) but I'm just wondering whether there are options to improve it?

It only occurs if I start from idle. If I am running at a certain speed and want to accelerate it almost reacts immediately. I would expect it has something to do with the fuel injection system? It is a PFI engine so maybe this is the delay from moment of fuel injection until the fuel reaches the combustion chamber? In that case it is probably not solvable. But I'm curious to your reactions.

Thanks!
