Wedge Question

I have the “lift” setting on my wedge. When I ski, that setting seems to make the wake smaller. Does that make sense?  A guy at the dealer just told me that the “lift” setting puts the wedge all the way down but I am not sure that is correct. I wonder what the actual intent or purpose of the “lift” setting is. I am having trouble finding info. Any wedge experts out there?  Thanks.

It does put the wedge all the way down, but because of the angulation of it, it does lift the boat slightly.  As the wedge comes back up to stow position it will create more downforce at each stop.
