On last dumb question.... so when you go this route and  you add the adaptor, install tower speakers and sub... is that all controllable by the malibu Radio/Electronics?  Also My take is the you can add and EQ inline?  My opinion the EQ just make the system so much cleaner and based on your DIY this is great because I did not want to go headless unit and lose all the functionality you get with the Malibu controls.  Thanks again for the post.

Yes, maintain full stereo control on the 7” screen and sport knob.

the malibu has 2 outputs that I will put the "dongles" on.. One is for the cabin and subwoofer and the other is for the tower.  On the Exile EQ you have an input from the main system then you have the 3 outputs (tower, cabin and subwoofer. Since Malibu separates the outputs from the black box, Which output from Malibu blackbox should I run to the Exile EQ as the main input and do I lose anything?  For example if I run the cabin/subwoofer will that not cover the tower?

one of the two full range pairs that go to the cabin amp.  So on the diagram, channels 1 and 2 or channels 3 and 4.  5 and 6 are for the sub.  I kinda doubt that they are low passed from the factory HU, but better to use the full range signal in any event.

But the diagram you sent looks like standard wires on a plug. Basically I want to be able to use the Exile ZLD II, but also be able to change songs, pause and mute from the factory fosgate head unit and fosgate transom control. How do I do that?

Oh wait -- you have a 2013 with fosgate HU?

You are posting in a thread about malibu dsp amps, so I gave you a dsp amp answer.

But for the RFX black boxes, the diagram is something like this.  You'd want to use the Front or Rear RCA out.  This diagram is the RFX5000, but they are all basically the same for your purposes.
