Jelcoating floor

Recommended Posts

Has anyone jelcoated before or know anything about jelcoating? I need to jelcoat my floor so I can lay gator step. It's currently unfinished and I need to finish it. How do I do it start to finish. I have a basic idea but I need to hear from someone that has done it before. What I have in my head is you use a brush or roller and apply it let it dry and repeat 2 or 3 total times and then sand it. Or do you sand in between coats?  Then how do you make it glossing or look finished? You use the color you want in the jelcoat you are applying I would assume.

What I've seen is folks using a urathane coating product in lieu of gelcoat.  There are a couple of threads out there of folks using a product called monstaliner.
