Granted I’ve only been surfing 3 weeks due to a hand injury right after I got my new boat in June but the wave with only a driver in the boat seams pretty great.   I did add the plug and play bags. Wedge is at one speed is 10.6.  Any tips are appreciated

Padge is dead on.  I would run at least 11.2, we run 11.4 with 500lbs of lead in bow when only a few people in boat.  You have quite a bit more room to ride further back as it is now with PLENTY of push.

Super Fun Wave!!!

Relax your upper body while bending those knees as you are  in the lower body athletic position ( strive to keep your but tucked in and chest up while relaxing your arms )   Close your front shoulder and front foot to the wave (put another way be able to put your front hand over the foam ball of wave) relax your upper body and do the same work or more from your hips down, use hip, knee and ankle flexion to do your surfing

nice wave

What board is that? It is MASSIVE. I would get in though with some of the guys on here to look at changing out your board. A board that is incorrectly sized big or small will make a huge difference in performance.

It’s a 2019 LF el Guapo longboard (5.6”) I’ve had a couple weeks. I also have a Ronix fish (5.0”) which I started on and is a lot more maneuverable.   I applied the extra speed (11.2) and added a 750 bow bag and the wave really lengthened out.   The smaller board was a lot easier to cut back and forth on.  Unfortunately I forgot my go pro and it was only 2 of us surfing (one driver and myself) so no video.

I actually started on the Koal Fish as mentioned but bought the longboard for a different ride as I’m experimenting with the boat, all it’s settings and weight etc. and board types. Plus my buddy who often comes is 6,2 225 so the Fish was hard for him to get up on.    I’ve only got about 6 days of surfing in (1/2 times a week etc) as several weeks of summer were derailed by a hand injury, selling my house and travel/kids stuff. That said, so far I’m loving it and bummed summer is coming  to an end.

So I have a video compilation of my 2017 M235 wave in the classifieds section and I will tell you about our setup.  We run full factory ballast and fill the PNP autovent bags about 75-85% in rear lockers.  You don't really need a full 500lbs in the bow, just put about 240lbs inside the furthest forward bow compartment under the ladder.  I have another 240lbs starbord midship under the passenger seat with the folding back.  I am 6'2" 300lbs, regular stance. I surf at 11.2 with power wedge at position 3 under lift.  I can surf my wife's Inland Surfer Air 134 and her 4'4" Ronix Carbon Skimmer all day with the push from that massive wave.

In this video the first two clips are Austin Keen at 11.4 with the wedge at 2 but only three adults in the boat.

The clip with the 12 year old girl sitting on her board is 11.2 with wedge at 3 and about five in the boat.

The clip with Austin Keen and Stacia Bank alternating is surfing fast to create long mellow wave 11.8 with wedge at 1 or 2 and eight in the boat.

The clip with the goofy stance surfer is freaking huge, 11.0 with wedge at 4 and probably six in the boat.

I hope this helps and if anyone has additional advice on ballast positioning ideas, please post.  Also, if you have $138K you should buy my boat so I can get new M235:biggrin:
