Bent Power Wedge

Recommended Posts

2018 LSV.  Boat was in about 12' feed of water.  Power Wedge was stuck in the LIFT position.  Actuator on Power Wedge was running and would not turn off.   There was no indication that anything was hit.  I just don't understand what could have put this kind of force on the Power Wedge with us knowing we hit something.  Also it seems if something was hit it would have to be in reverse to get those bends in it.

Did you run the boat fast while it was stuck in lift mode?  Or back over something while the wedge was deployed?  It seems like if the actuator were still running, it would have pushed the center or the support up, not pulled it down, since it is driving the piston back towards the boat.

Its not under warranty if I hit something.

Jeff good point.  It was stuck in the down position.  So if it was the actuator it would be bent up.  I don't get what could have happened.

No, but your insurance should usually cover and underwater collision

Did you use the boat with it in the lift position at fast speeds?  Do you see any impact marks anywhere on your wedge foil?

No impact marks.  The foil was stuck down with the actuator running.  The boat was run with it down, but I don't know exactly how fast.
