1999 dash speaker replacement

I have a slightly newer boat (2006) and had the same clearance issues when replacing my speakers. I was able to use a Dewalt Right Angle adapter for for my drill to get them out without removing the windshield. The Dewalt part number is DWARA100 and is available at most big box stored. it was a tight fit but in the end worked just fine.

Usually there’s no need to remove the windshield.

Google "Craftsman Z-Driver Screwdriver Wrench Set".

Or use a short Phillips head bit with a 10mm open end wrench.

A bit of fiddling, but still way faster than removing the windshield.

Pull the windshield.  Why?
-  It is easy and not very time consuming
- Way easier to replace the speakers pulled.  No need for special 90-degree drivers, chancing puncturing a surround, or if you have to do any cutting, good luck with the windshield in place
- It is gross under that windshield.  Good chance to clean/wax that area
