Carpet replacement

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 VLX with shot carpet. I've decided to replace it with seadek or gator step. So I pulled it up last night and noticed the floor is like a 1 inch thick piece of some kind of plastic. Does anyone know what that is called? I need to figure out how finish it so I can install the new decking.

I'm guessing what you're seeing is the fuel tank cover, which is probably HDPE (King Starboard) but the rest of the floor is a pre-fab fiberglass composite that gets laid down and glassed in during construction.  They class the pieces in and then fill the underside with foam (see the holes in pictures 2 and 4.)
