shaft strut

Recommended Posts

What Boz said.  I straightened mine on a press stand, and the only hard part was figuring out how to stack stuff up to get the pressure where it needed to go.  If you have access to a press, give it a shot.

Edit:  Here's an old thread.  Maybe it will help you through the process.

Been meaning to get back to this post.been busy. Well I replaced the strut and shaft. Aligned the shaft and motor to within .002 all around. Only thing is it wants to pull to the left now at wot. Any ideas anyone

Try tuning the rudder, or adjust the rudder tab, to counteract the pull to the left.  A tab, if there is one on your rudder, can be turned towards the port side to counter steering torque to the left, or the rudder can be filed slightly on the starboard rear edge if there isn't a tab.  Also, maybe check the tracking fins to see if they have been damaged.
