depth finder?

Hey all, Hope the summer be good to you and the malibu's out there. I have a '94 echelon and just bought a hawkeye depthtrax 1B. I really don't want drill through the hull. It says that you can mount in-hull as long as there is no re-enforcement (wood, foam). Does anybody know where a good in-hull mounting location is? Is there another kind of depth finder I should be using? Factory one is no-go, maybe troubleshooting tips? Thanks!!

I have the same unit in mine. I epoxied the transducer to the inside of the hull. It's off to one side in front of the strut but behind the transmission IIRC. Plenty of open flat-ish space back there for it. Been in there for 8 years with no issue. Just look above and below to make sure there's no chines, ridges, or other structure and tape it down while the epoxy cures so it doesn't slip.
