Axis Tower Mirror

I found that one on bakes as well. Still seems crazy that the stock mirror placement has me staring at my own face.

Thanks for the link link to the other axis forum, I may look at that mount to the arm instead of the PTM.

did you end up purchasing one?

I moved mine to the walk through window.  I also flipped mirror (spun bottom to top).  It gave me a little more upward tilt.

Did that get in the way when you have the walk through window open?

If mirrior is in the locked up position it might hit depending where you mount it.  I was OK with folding mirrior down when opening bow window since we don't use bow much.  It's just a 1/4" Allen wrench to loosen the two bolts to move it and it's soft foam so it does not leave marks.  Definitely worth a shot before dropping $600 on a new setup.

If you don't want to have to fold it before opening I'd try mounting it about 6" to the left (if sitting in boat) of the drivers window.

The arm is never the problem , it’s the hot dog between it and the mirror that’s the problem to get

Yep - that's why I linked the post it includes a link to pick up the adapter for sub $30 and connect to a CIPA 180 which it seems people find on Amazon from time to time for under $50.

@FatGoldChain - I didn't end up doing it, although @onwi - has this setup.

The price for the tower mount is pretty fair. Not 100% sure if the axis tower mount comes with a PTM mirror, but the Malibu one does so when you factor that in it’s not bad. Those PTM mirrors are not cheap.

And maybe sell your “fatgoldchain” to free up some cash if you want the tower mount so badly?

$30 is pretty good , in early 14’  to upgrade my boat after delivery buying a slightly used one, it didn’t have one, cost me $100 through a Texas Malibu saying they had to have it made , and a good bit more for the arm and PTM mirror and it’s mount to the hotdog, I think I was $550-600 all in

we ended up flipping the Mount that holds the mirror upside down and the mirror upside down and it works better for mounting above the weld on tower and for wskeboarfing or other long line cause it’s lower and we see more.  I get that center windshield mounted gets the best full panoramic view but I wanted tower.  When we add surf cushion on top of seat cushion it is s little less functional but fir surfing not so critical.

Until we did that we strained our necks to look at rider .  Once I moved the arm above weld cause upside down flip , I don’t have to move arm to put down tower weekly.  When mount and mirror were right side up, I had to have arm low on tower to make it reasonable to see when we sat on regular cushion height , like being behind windshield and big Eysenck above unless surfing

Hahaha I figured some one would call me out on the name. Never actually owned a gold chain, saw that name one time and thought it hilarious, also one that is for sure not to be taken! Love that response though
