Don't know if there is anything like this in the US but definitely new to AUS. Thought it might be of interest, pretty cool vid too.....

That does look really cool.  I’ve always said that the most dangerous thing on a boat is the rope.

On the downside...it looks like another thing to hit my head on. 🤷‍♂️

Cool for changing the rope length on the fly but I'll stick with old school manual rope management :)

Any word on price and durability?

Haven't got the costings, but I assume with any prototype like that it wouldn't be cheap....

There was a unit called the "Rope Winder" and one called the "Ski Reel" (external link: http://wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=409602 )

I owned two of the Rope Winders, and I wouldn't do it again. It was a nice idea, but the torque wasn't there to do anything to adjust while someone was holding the rope, there wasn't an auto-stop so you could really mess up the line, and it wasn't possible to use coated line because the winding/torque would rip the coating off. On a related note: I would never tow a tube from the tower.

I have two ropes that get used in my boat, and I could probablly use one if I rearranged the sections. I have a surf rope and a wakeboard rope; If I put the take-off sections in front of the handle and kept the main line at full length I'm thinking I could use one of the takeoff loops for surfing and then leave it full length for wakeboarding. I'd rather find some piece of plastic that makes it easier to take sections apart for $5 than to put a $500+ winch on the tower.

That's just my .02 since I've owned a similar device. Cool, but overkill.
