unless you're looking at a tower boom, I'd say not likely.  I think those had the retractable pylon which Malibu does not recommend using with a boom.  Also, a normal DD boom would be way too low to the water with how high you'd need to attach it.

I'd recommend lobbing a call into Peter at Smooth Water Sports.  He knows lots about barefooting and barefoot setups for Malibus.

Doesnt an xti have a center pylon like a dd?

Center pop up pylon that pops up from an upholstered sun deck.  Not a pylon that goes all the way to the floor like a normal DD.  That's one of the bits that got lost in the botched gender reassignment...  :)

Reach out to Mike at Barefoot International.  He knows booms and Malibu's.  He was willing to give me his personal number so I could send him pics of my setup prior to use so he could ensure it was setup correctly.  This was all on a Saturday no less..
