Stubborn ballast pumps

Recommended Posts

I have an '02 Malibu Sunscape 23 LSV with ballast tanks.  There are two inlet pumps under the engine.  After all this time, the plastic Rule pumps have disintegrated and need to be changed.   Problem is-- there isn't much room to work, but I've busted knuckles and tried everything I can think of and they won't budge.

Anyone has a solution?

Many thanks in advance.

IIWM and if they are really shot, I would remove them in an “appropriately easy manner”. 😁 I would then pull the seacock off and clean the plastic out of the threads so you can install the new replacement pumps. JM2C

Thanks-- I'll find a short saw and persuade it out
