'92 Sunsetter Rudder port

Recommended Posts

So, I'm stuck. There was too much play in my rudder and quite a bit of water coming in from the rudder box. So I dropped the rudder to maintenance and the piece of crap red plastic insert broke while trying to replace the gaskets.  What's the best method to fix this by the weekend? I've read several threads about having a new part made out of brass but I'm not sure how to engineer that.  Any advice, drawing on a napkin, links, etc would be appreciated !
