Hi there,

I have a '08 VLX which has currently no depth finder. Is there way to have it using the original Malibu dash ? Is it also possible without extra drilling holes ?

Regards, Roger

You would need a control module and a transducer.

Module:

The transducer you can find the part number on this site to order off of ebay or amazon. it is a thru hull glue in transducer so you don't have to cut a hole in the hull.

It will require cutting and splicing the wires because it will have a different plug. The factory one is no longer available.

Reach out to the guys at Bakes.  I wanted to do the same thing you are looking for.  Andrew, I think, explained how difficult it is to get a good signal from the new transducer.  There is a great step by step guide on how to do it, which looks simple, but the Bake's salesman explained that even soldiering the wires on the bench didn't always produce a functional outcome.
