Shower/Hammerhead Help

St. Ellis

Recommended Posts

Finishing up the shower install on my LXi but can not find a point to connect the hot water line. I found the two drain plugs but they both have sending units in them. Does anybody have a shower with a hammerhead that can take a picture of where the hot water connects to the block? Thanks for the help.

I have the fitting that goes into the block drain plug hole. Problem is, I only see two drain plugs (one on either side) but they both have sensors in them so I don't have a place to get my hot water from yet. I'm hoping someone with a HH has a shower and can point me to the location to get my hot supply. I also have a heater which looks like is getting it's supply from the intake manifold.

I've seen something about this before, might have been on the Merc. Scorpion. They removed the knock sensor, put a y fitting in the block and installed the knock sensor in one side, the hot water shower lead on the other. Have also read that the knock sensor really needs to be mounted in the block to be most effective but it's worth a try if no one else has seen this.

If I were you I'd just tee into your hot water supply for your heater. There is plenty of hot water flow there, and you don't need to risk messing with your knock sensors. Heater hose is 5/8" I.D., your shower hose is 3/8" I.D. - I'd bet your local hardware store would have the proper Tee to fit.
