Monsoon 335 vs 340

Recommended Posts

I tried searching online and the forum but saw no answers.  I have a 2003 Response LX with a Monsoon 335.  I am trying to find parts for it and I am confused on the different manuals and the types of engines.  I can only find 5.7L V8 in some manuals and Monsoon 340 in others.  Can someone confirm what the differences are and if there is a certain name for the 335 that I should be searching for.

Thanks!

Which parts are you looking for?

They are both Chevy V8 350 engines. The 335 and 340 refer to the HP rating of the motor. From what I understand the only difference in 335 and 340 is the one piece exhaust manifold which gave the extra 5hp.

Most parts can be sourced at a standard auto parts store for much less than a boat dealer just need to to know what to ask for.

Ok great.  I have only had the boat a month so I was trying to get a list of maintenance upkeep such as oil, spark plugs , etc and could only find mostly 340 manuals.  Thank you.

All the parts you listed and other normal maintenance parts are easy to get from your local auto parts store.  You have a GM 350, tell them that and it is for a boat.  I use a 78 Camero as a reference vehicle, others use a pick up....
