2011 Response txi. closed bow. Ballast for skiing?

Condor

Recommended Posts

Club boat, used to pull a variety of skiers in slalom course. Speeds vary between 46 and 55/58 kph.

Is ballast required in bow  to improve trim of boat and create a flatter wake at 55/58kph ?

Ballast of 50kg recently added but drivers have mixed opinion on how this improves/ adversely affects the handling, stability of the boat in course and the size of wake produced by the nose down attitude of the hull

Any comments/ suggestions gratefully received

Thanks

I asked the same question a few weeks ago regarding out '03 SS LXI. I felt the bow kind of "floated" side to side going thru the course. Added 120 lb cat litter up front and definitely helped IMO. I noticed no change in the wake but I seem to be fairly "wake insensitive" as a skier. Tried 160 lbs and didn't like it as well.
