1999 RLx temp sensor info?

Does anyone have info on the temperature sensor on a 1999 Response LX.  It has the gauges with control box under the dash.  I'm installing a new motor and the new intake does not have a matching thread size for the sending unit that came out of the old engine.  Looks like the original is a 1/2" NPT and the hole is smaller maybe a 3/8" NPT.  I was thinking if I could get the spec on it maybe I could find the same resistance with the  smaller thread.  I may try an adapter for now but I don't' think it will give an accurate temp.

According to the Medallion gauge troubleshooting guide: with the engine cool resistance should be between 1000-300 ohms. With the engine warm resistance should drop below 200 ohms. Hope this helps.
