Swapping out Navigation bulbs for LEDs

Hey everyone,

I apologize if this subject has already been covered but my forum search did not turn up any results.  That being said, has anyone swapped out their front navigation light bulbs for LEDs?  If so, was it difficult and what LEDs did you go with?

We go out at night to watch fireworks at our local lake and we usually keep the lights on for an hour or two without a break.  Needless to say, they get hot as hell and LEDs would use less battery while we were sitting with the engine off.

Yeah me and a buddy did it years ago after I scarred my chest leaning over to hook up the trailer hook   I called superbrightleds.com and described it to them and gave them an overall length, perfect fit and I don't think the bulb was over $10.

Exact same reason why I’m looking into it lol.  What is involved with the installation?  I’m assuming you have to get to the housing from underneath the deck?

I have an 06 with the flip over. I bought this a couple years ago and never looked back.
It's reeeally bright.

But, it can also get pretty warm. Well, I mean, it's got a heat sink in the back - that kinda tells you what you need to know. lol
I don't think it's every burned me, though. lol

This...one of the first mods I ever did to the boat (and my mod list is L-O-N-G).  I just looked up the bulb type and found the LED equivalent.  It was done purely for safety as you could cook an egg on that damn thing.  The LED bulb I put in doesn't seem to get all that warm.
