Hi, i'm new to the forum.

I have a vlx 22 16' and im thinking of changing it for a vtx 20 18'

I need a smaller boat to fit in the carport.

My only worry is the surfwake,

are there people on here who have owned the 2 boats  ? or tested them ?

The vlx will have more potential just because it is two feet longer. However the vtx is very capable. See the post below. If you don’t care about skiing you can prop down and not really have a ceiling for how much weight you can run. You need additional bow weight though.

Do you have pictures of the surfwake ? and especially how far you can go back ?

Did you click on the link that I posted?

I don't currently have a picture of how far back I can get, but I can tell you it is quite a bit further back then how far the rope will stretch. Rope is 20', so it will reach about 10' into the wave (ish) so I would say about 18-20' back from the boat. It is plenty of wave to make bottom turns, airs and spins.
