2016 23 wakesetter alarm

Recommended Posts

Good Day. 2016 malibu wakesetter with monsoon 455. just spring commissioned. first time out main display alarm says "service required". The lower right info screen shows  "low raw water flow" with a code. Engine temp at idle stable at about 155-158. Engine temp at 3500/4000 rpm about 165-168. main display alarm intermittently keeps coming on while running and shows same "service required" with the same lower right screen showing the same note about "low raw water flow" but temps stay the same. Any ideas? thank you.

First thing I’d check would be the raw water valve. I know it sounds stupid but it’s happened that it was closed and people put in without opening it (no not me, a friend... )

Second thing is check would be your sea strainer. Could be full of gunk.

Third  would be your impeller.

I’d check those things before going back to the dealer. Replacing the impeller is the toughest thing on that list but it’s still only like a 2/3 out of 10 for jobs on a boat. Should be able to save yourself a trip.
