Exhaust on 2015 Response issue?

Recommended Posts

Hey Crew Members, hope everyone is enjoying the season so far.  I'm hoping I can get some feedback on my exhaust system, I just want to make sure nothing is wrong.  I've noticed that the pressure coming out of the exhaust pipes on my 2015 Response are not even close to equal on the port and starboard side.  I get much more pressure coming from the port side.  I'm wondering if I should be concerned?  I guess my simple question is, should the exhaust pressure be the same coming out of the port and starboard side?  If so, any idea what could be causing mine not to be the same?  Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

If this is only at idle that is normal.

How are the manifolds routed on the PCM engine? Do they go into one pipe then back into two? That could be why as well, at idle. I bet while you are skiing if you take a glance water is blasting out of both.

My 13 TXi had more pressure out of one even thought they were individual manifolds but the mufflers have a “t” pipe connecting them so at idle there isn’t enough pressure to have equal pressure in both pipes.

It is only at idle, the manifolds go into one pipe then back into two.  The way I was checking was just by putting by hand over the end of the muffler during idle and feeling more water/pressure coming from the port side.

It is most like ahopkins described, so that is comforting to know it is normal.  Thanks for the replies!

Not a problem, normal for the PCM in a  Malibu.  If you look at the exhaust system, lay out it looks like more water shoukd be coming out starboard but more comes out the port side even with the inlet sealed and only the small T hose for a connection,  (that T hose use to be an option for a quiter exhaust).
