Pod replacement speakers

Can I use pod replacement speakers inside my boat? I want better speakers and have found the kicker replacement speakers to be cheaper, and can I mount them in new places inside boat that doesn’t already have existing speakers?

Ok maybe I stated it wrong, the speakers I’m looking at are Kicker White OEM replacement 6.5 speakers coaxial, if not pod replacements, what does replacement mean? Can I just plug and play inside my boat with these? And can I add them in places where as of now there aren’t speakers?

Technically, any marine speaker from Kicker is an Infinite-baffle in-boat speaker, with the exception the KMT67 and the KMS67. 

With that said, I would not go with their OEM level speaker. Go with the KM654 with the .75"/20mm dome tweeter.  Yes, you can put speakers in spots where there currently are not speakers. Measure twice, cut once.
