Purchasing options for 07 Questions

Looking at trading up to an 07 and the dealer is new and not fully fluent with BU"s yet. Got a couple of questions on options:

What is APV, Platinum and Silver?

What is the the difference between Precision Pro Speed Control and Perfect Pass Digitial Pro?

When do you need Water Cooled Shaft Seal?

Stereo - is there a base stereo installed? Trying to track down more detailed information on the stereo selections available, know where I can pick detailed information on the stereo components available.

If I don't select the Stainless Steel exhaust tips for exhaust, what do you get for exhaust tips?

Guessing on the APV: anniversary package that would include certain graphics and options. Dealer should get details from bu for you.

Speed control difference is standard vs. Perfect Pass. The boarders on here can tell you which they prefer.

When you don't want water in your bilge.

There is no standard stereo, you must option one in if you want it. Different choices here, including adding one after the fact, be sure what you'd like here. Dealer should be able to get you a list.

There are no exhaust 'tips' unless you option them in. Otherwise just flaps. Do yourself a favor--go with the STE tips.

Hope this helps. Even if your dealer isn't 'fluent' in 'bu yet, he should get you a list/brouchure etc that details the options available.

Thanks and I agree the dealer should be able to get the information.... but it is taking him for ever... asked him the questions three weeks ago, and well they were floored and had to go to BU, where they don't seem to be gettingh the answers in a resonable amount of time... so I figured I would start asking here. From past experience I aslo find these boards know better and have somewhat of an unbias response.

BTW: I do have the list of options just not answer on what is what or what is required to do things, like the exhaust tips.

I got the Stainless exhaust tips on my present boat, what are the STE? Listed as Silent Tip Exhaust but that is it.

AVp's are added value packages. They are just bundled options like an LS or LT package on a Tahoe.

Your stainless tips are not STE, as they were not offered then. STEs have a slight bend to them and incorporate a sound-reducing insert. Functional bling.

On the Value packages let me offer my opinion. Build the boat the way you want it, and then look to see if the Platinum, Silver, or whatever package happens to have exactly what you want in it. If it does, go with the package instead, it will save you a few dollars. If it doesn't don't bother, you'll get an option you're not looking for, and cost you more.

Anniversary Edition shouldn't be a package as far as I know, it's really a model, for it has it's own base price, colors and base options already picked out.

If you are considering a V-drive, buy the "water cooled shaft seal", (which should be called a dripless packing). Adjusting a packing under the transmission of a V-drive is nearly impossible.
