23LSV with 2018 Raptor?

I'm sure you guys have covered this somewhere. I just sold my super duty and thinking about getting a 2018 Raptor as a more "daily" truck and I take the Malibu to the lake every weekend which is about 80 miles each way. Any feedback would be helpful...

You’ll want to beef up the rear suspension. There are a couple of after market solutions out there. The truck has the power, but the off-road suspension does not make for a great tow. Go on the raptor forums, and read the towing section. Mine works for me, but I tow 10 minutes to the river or 40 miles to the lake. The truck is rated to tow 7000 lbs, but with an equalizer hitch. Haven’t found one that I would trust with a swing tongue and surge brakes.

Thank You. I looked on there but everyone is all over the place. I had a tahoe before my diesel and it was fine... then got spoiled with the diesel but dont need two cars anymore so trying to consolidate.

The Raptor is one of the funest daily driver I’ve ever owned. Way more fun than the gen 1 raptor! Finally I’m not scared of chipped diesels! Thing bounds through the plains like a drunken jack rabbit. That said, it’s not a tow vehicle. You can make it one for about a thousand. It is so fun, that the trade off is worth it for me. Of course I live in Montana, and we own a lot of acres, so it works for me as a work truck.

100% agree on the upgrades are needed. My next door neighbor and good friend has a 2018 Raptor and my old Mastercraft Prostar 197 when we hooked it up to take it to the lake I couldn't believe how much the back end sagged. It looked like a clown car, that being said his truck is amazing they are a blast to drive. Next time he hooks it up i will try to snap a picture.

@MalibuMatty Might want to consider another Super Duty (or similar) now that you are going with a new 25.  I’m sure the new hull will add 500 to 1k lbs to the existing hull.

So I finally cracked the cherry.... Towed from where I stored it all winter to my house approx 85 miles 30 miles of windy downhill. Towed just fine. little more sag than I would prefer but the new setup from RPG off road (frame support, deavers and air bumps) should solve all of that.

The FORD blind spot even covers the trailer which is nice. Plenty of power and braking was fine. Only thing I wish it had tow mirrors. I had zero interest in setting up the "PRO" Backup options as I have no need to turn a knob instead of turn the wheel.

Granted my super duty was awesome but I am much happier driving the raptor on a daily basis.

The truck is wide enough, I find that the stock mirrors work fine. If I run my hitch level or a bit above the receiver the boat seems to tow ok

The width isnt really the issue, it is how much bigger and better the parabolic mirrors are on the tow mirrors.

Have a 2019 Raptor and just ordered the Timbren 3,000 lbs bumpers to throw on when i tow (1-2 times a year) look forward to seeing how they help the tow performance.
