Hi Guys -

How does the new 2018 LSV 23 Surf?  How does the surf compare to the MXZ 22 and/or 24?

Thanks

I’ve surfed all three. I bet if you surfed them all back-to-back-to-back without knowing which was which (can you surf blindfolded?) you would not be able to discern one from the other.

I have surfed behind the 22 and the 23. There are subtle differences in the wave, but it is very subtle. I ultimately thought the 23 had a bit longer wave with a little more push. I thought the 22 was a little steeper. The difference was so small, I think others might have a different opinion. (in fact my 15 year old did) We ended up purchasing a 23 LSV. We also got larger bags than what we demoed.

Hi Guys - Was there much of a difference between the 2013 23 LSV and 2018 23 LSV?

Yes. Night and day. New boats are longer, taller, and more push at the rear.

The 2018 23 LSV is 2 hull re-designs better than the 2013 23 LSV, which is a 2008 hull that had the first year of surfgate added to it in 2013. The 2008-2013 hull is also very good when surfing listed but was designed before surfing became a big deal, so it has a foot or less freeboard and weighs a LOT less than the '18.

I've surfed all 3 generations and really like the '18 23 LSV best, and also like the LSV best of the 3 boats you first asked about. But I'm biased to the traditional hull personally for looks.

Just sold my 2013 23 LSV and took delivery of my new 2018 23 LSV in March.  Surfed it the first time this weekend.  With stock ballast on both boats, the wave is MUCH longer, a bit taller and a bit steeper on the new boat.  I'm about 10 lbs lighter than last season but I don't think that's the reason I could surf so much further back.
