I’m trying to replace my old lights throughout the boat with these strip lights from Amazon. Instructions say I can cut in between the four dots every 3 leds. Once I cut them how do I solder wires to them? Do I just pull the rubber coating back and solder to the +\-?

You have 2 options.  They make solderless connections super cheap that make connection super easy and probably more weather proof.  Or you can cut back rubber and solder. This is also on my list of spring projects for the boat. What locations you installing yours?

Side and front gunnels. Under the helm and under the glovebox. Both lockers and also the walkway compartments where the nets are. Total of 16 feet. It’s just for cleaning and getting everything out at night. All bright white.
