My Sunsetter needs new carpet

Recommended Posts

I need new carpet for my sunsetter.

I see 28oz carpet on line. It looks plush.  Is this the best choice?

What I need is to find an installer within reason to HBG pa.

I want OEM quality

You should get in on that GatorStep group buy, carpet does not dry out as fast and can mildew a lot quicker tho I guess its all how you use the boat. The backing is the most important part of carpet for marine use so it does not hold water, mildew and turn to mush

If you don't mind the old carpet being under it, I would look into a Deckadence (or equivalent) overlay and save a lot of money.  I just finished a carpet pull and it was a major PITA.  Much easier to just lay something on top and be done with it...

I would think that you’d have to rip out the carpet underneath to keep it from mildew/mold.

And that was my reason for doing so, but where I'm at it's dry enough that I'm sure it would have been fine.  I bought myself a LOT of work after removing the carpet.  Let's just say carpet hides a lot of flaws...one of them major.  When this project is done I'll post some pictures.
