I had to go to PO to pick up the lead too, not a big deal to me. I understand those little USPS vehicles cant handle that much weight and they dont want to carry 500lbs to my door. They wont deliver packages to my house anyway cause of my big a** German Shepard, Fedex/UPS honks from the road too....just the way I like it, lol

Was more amusing to me than anything.  When I walked in the post office with my claim ticket they all just gave me an evil eye.  You could tell they were not amused by this shipment but I just laughed it off.  I just wanted to bring it up as when I ordered I used my business address thinking it would come on a pallet or crate and could use my fork lift to off load it but that is not an option.  I have not ordered anything else from him but if I did I might ask if he could ship it freight.  Would be more money but then I wouldn't have to go downtown and deal with the post office lol.

As for them getting wet.  I had my boat outside last spring for a couple weeks and the cover let water in by the tower which is right above where I keep my bags.  When I saw that they were all damp I got worried but a little sun and they dried up better than the carpet under the seat.  This winter I pulled them out of my boat and tossed them in the bed of my truck for some weight while driving in the snow.  They are much better than the sand bags they sell and they don't slide around.
