Suggestions on which lead bags?

Can someone save me the site surfing and tell me which bags are best and why? Handles, colors or whatever. I'm guessing 50lb bags, and I'm guessing black because I will dip the bow and get them wet and forget to take them out to dry.... looking to put maybe 200-300lbs up front to try to lengthen the wave and offset when everyone goes to the back anytime someone surfs....

I made it in on the group buy from the Facebook group.  Bought 5 bags, haven't stashed them in the bow yet, but they look good.

Now I am thinking I want more.  Going to buy 500 pounds of old tire weights and try to make my own bags.  Which I am sure I will likely regret, and may just end up ordering more from leadwake, but the price on this is low enough I have to give it a try.

500lbs of leadwake for me and they have held up very well. Built strong, nice handles, good material. They used to have a deal where if you buy 9, you get 10th free...which is basically 10% off and since they use USPS flat rate, shipping was free too.

I tried collecting weights and making bags but it’s hard to get it compact and in nice little bags. I probably put 75lbs in two 4” pipes like 24” long.

Just placed an order from drift Weight for 3000 pounds:rockon:

Did you accidentally add an extra zero? That's a crap load of lead.

What are their prices?

Cant imagine any trailer liking that much weight added...and it would suck to carry it on and off the boat all the time. I suppose a sturdy lift would handle it if that is how you store the boat. What will your combined ballast weight be with water bags and lead? Hope you take pics of that surf wave!!

Hope you don't swamp because you'll sink.  I'm recalling that video someone posted of the boat that took too much water over the bow in rough water.

They made me come to the post office and pick them up because my mail carrier was "not going to haul that much weight to my door".  I got 600lb and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I had to go to PO to pick up the lead too, not a big deal to me. I understand those little USPS vehicles cant handle that much weight and they dont want to carry 500lbs to my door. They wont deliver packages to my house anyway cause of my big a** German Shepard, Fedex/UPS honks from the road too....just the way I like it, lol

Same here on pick up at P.O.  I have to move mine fir dialing purposes around so now I wish they were 35’s!!!

i sun and wet vac dry my damp bags  while cleaning and stand them up as well

if they get damp and stay damp, won’t they deteriorate, u can’t put 50’s in plastic snd lose the handle to move them

I stashed a couple 50# bags around my bow tank (not much room to do that) and i was going to put them in gallon sized ziplocks. They didn't fit so i just said heck with it and let them ride. We'll see how it turns out in the long run. I'll prolly get a few more 25# bags in hopes they'll fit better on the sides of the tanks. Anyone ever pull the front back rest cushion in the nose of the bow?  I tried briefly to find the screws, found the two on the bottom but it must be held by more. Didn't really want to disasssmble the whole bow seating so i just left the two 50 pounders on the back side of the tank. Would be better if i could get those two way up in the front. Or at least 1 more.

I did on my 2002.  I replaced the overkill 4 bolts and 6 screws with 4 Beau Clips and now it's a quick-release seat back.  MUCH easier access.  Shouldn't be a problem to fit 2 or 3 bags up there, as its a bit cavernous on my model year.
