2012 23 LSV Tower speaker replacement

Me personally, it would be Wetsounds REV10's.  If that was more than I was willing to spend, then I'd go Exile SXT9Q.  Both would be a significant upgrade to your previous speakers.

Chances are the amp that powered the 6x9 speakers in the alpha can won’t be enough juice to power a Set of REV’s or the EXile surf 9’s.

but...

there is a market here for you to sell the empty speaker cans and Shelf they sit on in the classifieds here to offset some cost of the new gear you will need.

good news is it will just be plug n play with the amp, and tower speaker installs are super easy.

A few taps on the calculator, and its quick to see that moving to two pair of 8" round coaxial such as the mentioned exile, or any of the many others such as the wet sounds icon-8, jl 8,8, rockford pm282, Roswell R1-8 or Kicker KMTC8, are going to come in as much or more then a single pair of larger 10" speakers. @ $900 a pair, the exile 8" for sure will be more then a single pair of 10" Rev-10.

Going with a single pair of round 8" would likely be a downgrade in output from two pair of 6x9 coaxial. A 10" driver is only a little less surface area then a pair of 6x9, but you will get way deeper mid-bass then those oval drivers.
