2004 to 2018 vinyl improvement

So I searched and got some info but I am still confused.

I am 2004 original bu owner and replaced my vinyl once in 14 years with exact factor skins from Chee (don’t know if he still doing it)

anyway anybody got a good explanation of the differences over the last 14 years.

i  am reading that the newer textured vinyl is much cooler to the touch  in sunlight.  If so how much would you say compared to 2004 vinyl?

does this newer textured stuff stain easier? It seems it’s not as smooth so it would tend to hold dirt and mold/ mildew more.

For me and future owners of newer boats I would appreciate any experienced input.  Old vs New.

seems there has been at least 2 evolutions since 2004.  I’m seeing posts as recent as 2010 where the browning under the cover happened, but I can tell ya mine happened with no cover.  Strong believer it was the glue from foam.

There are a lot of new vinyls on the market.  We were at the winter boat show, and I think Mastercraft has an interior that won't get hot.  The sales guy said it could be black and still won't get hot.
