Surf Pipe Question

A lot of posts on my other topic about our new A24 and having a surf pipe.  We were happy with our  '17 A24 without the surf pipe and no one ever complained about any fumes or smell.  It was our first wake boat.     We surf a lot.   I know the engine noise is louder but it didn't bother us either.   I'm open to having it or not but would really like to hear from  the more experienced owners on their thoughts.   I've read on a few posts they've had a little rattle noise on their pipes and didn't like it.  Anyone that has the factory surf pipe have they had any issues with it?   I would like to hear all sides.   Thanks guys with any help!

Sounds like you answered your own? Already.  Why buy something you don't miss?

The Malibu surf pipe is rock solid and well engineered.  They even added a deflector shield to help reduce any spray at higher speeds.  I know some people don't prefer the look but I actually like it.  Its a really nice piece of stainless and a good conversation starter at the gas pumps and launch ramps.  We have never experienced any rattling or problems with the surf pipe.  It wont affect steering or handing of the boat.

You will get a reduction in engine noise behind the boat but it won't do anything for the cabin area.  As you have probably read in my posts I am huge advocate for it because of the reduction of exhaust fumes, the engine noise reduction is a bonus.

IMO it's money well spent and definitely worth the upgrade.  I have yet to see anyone order it and have any regrets.  If you decide to install later it more than likely could be double the cost when you factor in the labor and higher retail you will end up paying.  You always get a better price on upgrades when ordering the boat.
